Description Description The Land Use 2014 (South East and SA River Murray corridor) dataset is derived from a comprehensive desktop and field survey conducted across the South East Natural Resource Management (NRM) RegionSELECT 1 FROM DUAL; 5 km buffer of the SA River Murray corridor and the Mallee Region. The land use categories contained in the dataset are based on the Australian Land Use and Management (ALUM) classification version 7,. The ALUM classification has a primary, secondary and tertiary tiered approached for allocating land use categories and descriptions. As a minimum land use has been applied to the secondary level. The ALUM Classification system provides a nationally consistent method to collect and present land use information for a wide range of users across Australia. Data Quality Lineage The 2008 land use survey formed the basis for this dataset. Aerial Imagery from 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014 with a resolution of between 20 and 90 cm was used to adjust old and add new features where required. Further adjustments were made in the field by technicians using GPS. Land use mapped should be regarded as a representation of land use only, and is best used at a regional or catchment level.
