Description
Description | The Planning and Design Code (P&D Code) Subzones are areas within a zone where there is an exceptional unique difference from the zone to warrant the need for additional policy in the P&D Code under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (PDI Act 2016). P&D Code Subzones represent the spatial boundaries that provide additional guidance for development on 'what' can happen in an area. |
Usage | The P&D Code Subzones are used to determine the additional policies that apply to a development at a given location. The policies in the 'parent' zone will still apply except where varied through the application of any additional policies introduced by the subzone, provided it does not conflict with the Desired Outcome(s) of the zone. |

Data Quality
Lineage | The P&D Code Subzones were initially derived from the zoning spatial data layer under the Development Act 1993 (Dev Act 1993) that transitioned into the P&D Code under the PDI Act 2016. P&D Code Zones are primarily defined by cadastre, coastline, roads, watercourses and other relevant spatial data layers. |
Completeness | Complete for South Australia, including coastal waters. |
Positional Accuracy | This data set has been derived from zoning spatial data layer under the Dev Act 1993 that has been aligned to a combination of cadastre, coastline, roads, railways, watercourses, water bodies, pastoral paddocks and petroleum pipeline licences immediately prior the commencement of Planning and Design Code Zones under the PDI Act 2016 is reliant on accuracy of these spatial data layers. Refer to LMS records for Planning and Design Code Zones and other associated layers mentioned for positional accuracy. |
