DescriptionReferral areas concerning the siting of Mining Tenements from Schedule 20 of the regulations to the Development Act 1993. Associated with Schedule 20 are a series of plans defining the referral areas which can be obtained from the General Registry Office (GRO) and numbered 156 of 1982.
UsageUnder section 75(2) of the Development Act an application for a mining production tenement is required to be referred to the Minister (Minister of Housing and Urban Development) if it meets special conditions set out in the regulations (regulation 84(1)). Under regulation 84, sub regulation 1, applications for a mining production tenement must be referred to the Minister (Minister of Housing and Urban Development) for advice where the land comprising the tenement is located in a number of key locations across the State. This dataset defines those key locations.
