Positional Accuracy

Local Government Areas were acquired with reference to Digital Cadastral DataBase (DCDB) themes. Consequently, the positional accuracy of the Local Government Areas are dependent upon the scale of the source mapping and the manual digitising process used to capture the cadastre. Relationships exist with other DCDB themes (Road Centrelines and Suburbs) and external data sources (topographic features such as watercourses, railway tracks etc from the Topographic Information System (TOPIS)). Any repositioning, amending or upgrading of this data affects the Local Government Area theme.
