Description
| Description | The broadhectare land supply dataset is derived at the end of each financial year from a snapshot of the digital cadastre and valuation data. It covers the Greater Adelaide Region and selected rural townships, and incorporates data on State Government Land for Release (surplus land), land zoned for rural living uses and growth areas as identified in the The 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.
Prior to 2012 broadhectare land was referred to as broadacre land. Current broadhectare dataset as at 30 June 2020. |
| Usage | The broadhectare land supply dataset is used by the Planning Division of DPTI to monitor the stock of land that is appropriately zoned and available for residential development. The dataset is the basis of the annual Residential Land Supply Report (formerly called the Analysis of Broadacre Land Report). |

Data Quality
| Lineage | ArcGIS was used to link DCDB (parcels greater than 4,000 sqm) for the ASD & OASD & selected SA towns with Valuation Assessment data (DEH) to create a broadacre land coverage which was then intersected with zoning data. Missing links were researched and recorded. Initial reports data checked by LMC, Education & Treasure and Finance. |
